Attention Oregon anglers: Thanks to a new access permit launched this month in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, you can now enjoy expanded fishing opportunities along the North Fork Nehalem River. This permit opens up about three-quarters of a mile of new riverfront on the north bank, downstream from Nehalem Hatchery — perfect for hatchery coho and steelhead fishing. Permits are now available online. https://lnkd.in/e8TYY-Vj

  • As the safety lead at our lumber mill in Plymouth, North Carolina, Erick Cooper is responsible for providing safety leadership and guidance across the facility, and for onboarding new hires into our safety culture. "I tell them, 'If you don't remember anything else I go over in this week's activities, I want you to remember one thing,'" Erick says. "'And that is to make safety personal.'" It's a lesson Erick has learned over 35 years at Weyerhaeuser during a career that has seen him do nearly every job in the mill. He says his current role allows him to spread his passion for safety and connect deeply with his colleagues. "If you make safety personal when you come to work every day, you're going to do everything within your power to do your work the right way — the safe way." Learn more about Erick's personal approach to teaching and strengthening safety at Weyerhaeuser. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/etNjD_4r

  • We're strengthening support for wildfire response in our rural communities through a donation of 38 acres in Disston, Ore., to Row River Fire Response (RRFR). This land connects the Row River and Lower Brice Creek areas and will be the future site of a new RRFR emergency substation for Row River Rural Fire Protection — helping improve wildfire response times for the area. "Thriving, resilient communities are vital to the well-being of our employees, our neighbors and the places where we live and work in Oregon,” says Lyndcy Patrick, land use manager at Weyerhaeuser. “By supporting organizations like RRFR, Weyerhaeuser can make a real difference in wildfire response and help first responders keep our communities and forests healthy.” https://lnkd.in/eY_yd3GZ

  • We are grateful for the close relationships we have with our contractors and recognize how vital they are to the success of our company. Earlier this year, the quick thinking of a team of contractors in North Carolina saved hundreds — if not thousands — of acres of Weyerhaeuser timberlands in Craven County. Delivering a cutter to a job site, contractor Greg Broadway and his team from G&H Broadway Logging, Inc., spotted smoke rising from a stand of loblolly pine. They quickly bladed a containment line and alerted our team to the threat. A rapid response that included firefighting contractors, the North Carolina Fire Service and Weyerhaeuser employees successfully extinguished the fire, which had been started by lightning and was spreading underground. "The contractor's quick thinking and the trust built between him and (our team) made this work," says Scott Burroughs, land use forester. "Without that kind of partnership, the outcome could have looked very different." Learn more about the collaboration that averted a crisis. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/e_b2Ut-R

  • Continuing our 125th anniversary look back at Weyerhaeuser's history, today we're highlighting photos from 1981 to 1990. During the decade, we planted our 2 billionth seedling and completed the salvage and reforestation efforts of the 68,000 acres of our timberlands destroyed by the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. We also expanded our innovative High Yield Forestry program, partnered for progress on complex environmental challenges, emphasized product quality and operational excellence, deepened our commitment to customers and increased our focus on safety. Enjoy select photos from the era courtesy of the Forest History Society. #WY125 #TheWeyerhaeuserWay

  • Rebecca Hamilton's journey home to Columbia Falls, Montana, and our MDF plant where she now works as a customer service representative, began with a visit to see her aging parents. More than a decade later, the fifth-generation Montanan has no regrets. At work, she uses her organizational talents to support our internal sales team, monitor inventory and provide exemplary customer service, while at home, she finds joy in maintaining large vegetable and flower gardens and raising cattle with her husband. "I feel so grateful," says Rebecca, who spent nearly 30 years in Seattle before moving home. "I'm really satisfied with how everything has turned out. I'm looking forward to many more years with this fantastic company, in this great town in this great state." Learn more about Rebecca's professional journey and her passion for providing our customers with world-class service. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/extqc7j6

  • We had a great time in Buckhannon, West Virginia, yesterday celebrating our announcement of the $1 million, multi-year investment Weyerhaeuser will be making in the community through our THRIVE program. Remarks from Weyerhaeuser leaders and local elected officials were followed by cake, refreshments and a tour of our engineered wood products plant. Now, the real work begins. Over the coming weeks and months, our THRIVE team will be meeting with community leaders to identify their key priorities and the projects we can help support. "We're thrilled," Robbie Skinner, mayor of Buckhannon, told WBOY 12 News. "Weyerhaeuser has been one of the best partners that any small town could ever have." See more of yesterday's event and hear what others had to say about this exciting news. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/egej_RY3

  • Since 2021, Weyerhaeuser has been proud to provide Pacific Northwest Search Dogs with a free land use permit so they can train on our Springfield and South Valley tree farms in Oregon. As part of Lane County Sheriff's Ground Search and Rescue, these dedicated volunteers train search dogs in environments free from conflicting scents — ensuring they are ready to locate, rescue and recover lost or endangered people in a variety of settings. “Thanks to these training sessions, our dogs and handlers are better prepared, our community is supported, and families facing the unthinkable have reason for hope,” says Sarah Zumwalt, a volunteer handler at Pacific Northwest Search Dogs. https://lnkd.in/efgh5iqi
