  • Wildflyer attended the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits annual conference! Professional development, connection, and community are central to our employees wellbeing and success in their jobs. As well as the success of Wildflyer as a whole! Our founder, Carley Kammerer, led an incredible session on Leading Through Loss, and our Director of Social Enterprise, Julia Miller, co-presented the MCN Mission Awards during the lunch ceremony! Thank you to those who connected with us, and to everyone who presented. It was an incredible two days of learning and connecting.

  • In past years, graduation at Wildflyer often meant goodbye. Some youth even stopped showing up to their last shifts because leaving on their own terms felt easier than facing an ending. That’s why we launched the Wildflyer Alumni Program—so graduates don’t have to walk into their next chapter alone. With mentorship, workshops, and community, they can keep building skills and belonging long after their final shift. To sustain this program, we’re inviting you to join our monthly giving community, Soar Circle. Here’s how it works: We’ve created a giving board with spaces ranging from $5 to $250/month. Each new donor “blocks off” a square, helping us reach the steady monthly income we need to keep this alumni program going. We’re looking for 55 donors to fill the board. So far, 8 generous supporters have stepped up—leaving 47 spots open(see the board below 👇). Will you help us block off the board and make sure every Wildflyer youth knows: their story doesn’t end at graduation? 💛 Join Soar Circle today: https://lnkd.in/gSS8ENqh

  • ✨ Big news ✨ We just launched our Alumni Program—to keep showing up even after the apron comes off. Graduates now receive continued support as they transition into mainstream employment, ensuring their skills and community connections remain with them throughout the process. This program is only possible with steady, sustainable support. That’s where you come in. Our friends at the Kind World Foundation gave a $40,000 anchor gift. Now we need to raise just $20,000 over the next 12 months—only $1,600/month. We’re looking for 55 new Soar Circle members to commit at the levels listed here to help us reach this goal. Will you help us Block Off our Board and give youth support that doesn’t end at the door? Join Today: https://lnkd.in/gSS8ENqh

  • Wildflyer is holding our community in our hearts. This week has carried deep tragedy—first at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, and then yesterday at Annunciation Church. Both shootings took place just minutes from our Minneapolis shop, and we know these events have profoundly impacted our customers, donors, volunteers, and neighbors, as well as our own staff and program participants. We feel this pain alongside you. Coffee shops have long served as “third places”—gathering spaces beyond home and work where people can come together, find comfort, and belong. That is what Wildflyer is for many, and it is a role we are committed to continuing. Today (9/29), our programming room at the Minneapolis shop will be open from 3:00–5 p.m. for anyone who needs a space to sit, process, connect, or simply be. Hot coffee will be free for all who come. While there won’t be a structured program, Community Chaplain Bryan Odeen and our Executive Director, Carley Kammerer, in her role as a Certified Grief Educator, will be present to offer support and a listening ear. Please use this space if you need it, and know that we are here as a place of refuge, comfort, and care. Finally, we want to affirm one of our deepest values: belonging. That belonging extends to everyone—including our trans and LGBTQIA+ community members. Wildflyer has always been, and will continue to be, a safe and welcoming space for all.

  • Our Executive Director, Carley Kammerer, is leading a breakout session at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Annual Conference on October 10! In her session, Leading Through Loss: Grief-informed leadership for change-makers, Carley will offer personal and practical approaches for nonprofit leaders to acknowledge loss, utilize tools to navigate grief, and lead their teams with clarity, compassion, and courage. Don’t miss it! Register today and take advantage of the early bird discount through September 8: https://lnkd.in/g7pY5jnM
