  • DYK - It wasn’t that long ago that WSP troopers and inspectors wore different patches? Today, both wear the same patch with different primary duties: Troopers: patrol key travel corridors, such as interstates and major freeways - enforcing traffic and criminal laws, investigating motor vehicle crashes, assisting stranded motorists, and providing support to local law enforcement. Inspectors: often work at safety weight enforcement facilities or perform mobile inspections - enforcing motor vehicle laws, conducting inspections of commercial trucks, school buses, and ambulances, and ensuring carriers operate within state and federal regulations. . . . #WSPCareers #ThrowbackThursday

  • WSP 71st RECRUIT CLASS UPDATE This last week, the recruits took to the track and brushed up on their driving skills. Emergency Vehicle Operations and Control (EVOC) is a one-week course that involves classroom and hands-on experience on the track. The driving course practices various maneuvers such as parking, backing, and taking evasive action in case of emergency. Morning physical fitness varied day-by-day, but the most notable was Wednesday morning’s 3.5-mile formation run with Challenge Academy. The class also volunteers time mentoring students from the Challenge Academy. . . . #WSP71stRecruitClass
