Migration is not just a modern reality — it’s always been woven into the story of God’s people throughout Scripture. From Abraham and Ruth to Jesus and the disciples, the Bible is filled with journeys of leaving and finding home. In partnership with InterVarsity Press, we’re sharing an excerpt from Migration, a Made for PAX bible study, that invites us to see how God is cultivating the heart of a migrant in each of us. 👉 Read the full excerpt on our blog here: https://lnkd.in/ghc9yReF #faithandmigration #godspeopleonthemove #worldreliefwesternwa

When Sahra and her children fled Afghanistan, they carried more than grief — they carried quiet determination. Her husband had been poisoned. Her village wasn’t safe. And she had never had the chance to go to school. “But I always wanted to go,” she said. In the U.S., safety came with new challenges. Sahra didn’t speak English. She couldn’t read or write. But slowly, she began to dream: “I want to learn English. When I learn more, I could go to school and get a job.” Swipe through to follow Sahra’s journey — from fear to resilience, and from silence to strength. For over 45 years, World Relief Western Washington has partnered with the U.S. Government, local churches and communities, resettled 1,578 refugees in 2024 alone and provided life-changing aid for refugees and immigrants in Western Washington. This week, federal funding for these life-changing programs has been cut abruptly and unexpectedly, creating a devastating funding gap for World Relief Western Washington and hundreds of our peer organizations. We now face unimaginable odds in ensuring malnourished children are fed, pregnant mothers are receiving adequate maternal health services and refugees here in the U.S. are receiving the food and shelter they were promised. Refugee resettlement and foreign assistance aren’t just about compassion — they’re investments in global stability, safety, and reflect core American values, including those of people like us, motivated by their faith in Jesus. Every gift makes a difference and saves lives.
