Earlier this week, the U.S. recognized Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day where we honor the resilience, wisdom and cultural richness of Indigenous communities everywhere. At World Relief, we believe every person is made in the image of God, and we celebrate the invaluable contributions of Indigenous peoples who continue to strengthen communities, often in the face of injustice and displacement. May today be a reminder to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity with Indigenous brothers and sisters everywhere.

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to set a fiscal year 2026 ceiling for refugee admissions of 7,500. We are deeply troubled by this reported number, which would be the lowest level set for refugee arrivals in U.S. history. Under the authority of the Refugee Act of 1980, the president has the authority and responsibility to set a refugee ceiling — the maximum number of refugees who could be admitted — after consulting with specific congressional leaders. Yet these consultations have reportedly not yet occurred. We urge the administration to make the U.S. a haven for refugees seeking to rebuild their lives in safety, including those of all faiths fleeing religious persecution. At a time when there are more refugees globally than ever in recorded history, will you join us in fiercely advocating for a higher refugee ceiling? Swipe to learn more about the implications of the reported refugee ceiling. In the Marrah Mountains of Sudan, a simple structure is bringing extraordinary change. In Jokosti village, World Relief, along with the Sudan Humanitarian Fund and the World Food Programme, helped build a dam that now provides clean water year-round to more than 7,000 households. Before, families walked two hours just to fetch water. Today, thanks to this dam, they have enough for drinking, cooking, washing and even growing vegetables close to home. For many, this means cleaner water, healthier children, and new opportunities to grow crops and earn an income. This transformation is not just about water — it’s about hope, resilience and dignity. Even in the midst of conflict and crisis, World Relief has stood with the people of Sudan for decades, committed to their flourishing. We’re grateful for the courage of local communities, the support of our partners and the vision of families who are building a better future together. #humanitarianaid #sudan

Pastors carry unseen burdens — leading, comforting and often standing in the gap for the most vulnerable in their communities. This Pastor Appreciation Day, we’re lifting up Pastor Ara’s story: from refugee to shepherd, he reminds us that advocacy is not separate from the gospel, it’s at the heart of it. ✨ Read his reflection on faith and welcome on our blog: https://bit.ly/4mU8JBm

We have long been praying for relief from suffering in the Middle East. Today, we welcome the agreement on the initial terms of a peace deal in Gaza, which would end this devastating war. Alongside partners and with your support, we have responded with compassion across Gaza, the West Bank, Egypt and Lebanon since 2023. Today, we are positioned at the border, ready to deliver aid through our partners as soon as access allows. While we look on this moment with cautious optimism, we continue to call on world leaders to support a ceasefire and ongoing humanitarian solutions. Please continue praying for God’s mercy in this critical moment.

Today marks two years since the attacks of October 7, 2023 and the escalation of conflict in Gaza and Israel. Two years of a humanitarian crisis that has caused unimaginable suffering. Together with you and alongside partners, we have responded with compassion and urgency across Gaza, the West Bank, Egypt and Lebanon since 2023. We’ve reached more than 199,000 individuals with life-saving support. Today, we pray for a ceasefire agreement to be reached and are positioned at the border, ready to rush in aid as soon as it opens. Hostages need to be released NOW. Gazans need aid NOW. Please lift up your prayers for this suffering to be eased as soon as possible.

In remote Turkana County, Kenya, that’s exactly what’s happening. After graduating from World Relief’s local church empowerment program, five church networks have launched solar-powered mills. These clean-energy tools are reducing food costs, saving families time, and generating income to support those hit hardest by hunger and drought. And the best part? It’s all led by local church leaders. “Since the mill was given to us by World Relief to help us,” said Christopher Akula, “we thought it was right to extend that help to others.” This is what community-led innovation looks like. This is how churches become changemakers. 🔗 See how small mills are making a big impact — read the full story at the link: https://bit.ly/3W8IuMJ
