At World View, caring goes beyond the stratosphere. CARE is one of our core cultural pillars, because caring for our teammates, our families, and our communities is what grounds us in our mission to create a radically improved future for us all. The World View Cares Committee brings our team together to serve our local community through volunteer projects, donations, and acts of kindness, because making an impact starts right here on the ground. Each year, we select one organization to center our fundraising and volunteer efforts around. With input from World View Cares members, we chose Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse for 2025 in support of their work helping families affected by domestic violence. #WorldViewCares #CommunityFirst

About us
Since 2012, World View has led the way in remote sensing and Earth observation from stratospheric high-altitude platforms (HAPs), with demonstrated accomplishments for a variety of scientific, commercial and government organizations. Our proprietary stratospheric balloon flight technology delivers better insights with far lower costs and lead times than satellites and other traditional aerial sources. World View’s remotely-navigated Stratollite® flies five times closer to Earth than a satellite, capturing high-resolution imagery with much greater detail. And since it can persist over an area for weeks at a time, it provides a clearer picture of changes on the ground than a satellite that only flies over the area at the same time every day. Our high-resolution electro-optical, infrared, radar, hyperspectral, radio relay, and other remote sensing capabilities can deliver a wealth of insights across a range of applications. From helping agricultural yields to less-invasive energy and mineral exploration to tracking wildfires, storm systems and greenhouse gases.

We’re proud to announce that World View was selected as the exclusive high-altitude balloon provider for UNITAS 2025, the world’s longest-running multinational maritime exercise. In collaboration with SMX, Orb Aerospace, and BigBear.ai, we delivered a “Single Pane of Glass” ISR solution, integrating persistent stratospheric platforms, advanced sensing, resilient comms, and AI-driven analytics to support U.S. Navy South Command / Fourth Fleet operations. Ryan Hartman, CEO of World View: "This mission proved the power of integrated ISR and the value of public-private collaboration in defense innovation. We’re proud to help deliver a true ‘Single Pane of Glass’ operational concept that enhances decision advantage, interoperability, and mission success.” Kevin McAleenan, CEO of BigBear.ai: “By combining computer vision at the edge with intelligent orchestration, we continue to build an AI platform that empowers faster, more informed decisions across the battlespace.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gim9pP8P #DefenseInnovation #ISR #UNITAS2025 #MultiDomainOps #Aerospace

Gryphon Retrofit: A Defining Moment for World View Today, we celebrated the completion of the Gryphon Retrofit mission and the safe return of our Recovery Team to HQ. This was more than a successful flight; it was a defining moment for World View and a mission that proved what’s possible when innovation and execution come together. - 49 days, 6 hours, and 6 minutes aloft. - 13,166 miles traveled. - Three Starlinks flown simultaneously. - A new power system that provided a continuous output of >600W. Every advancement on this mission - our new Battery Management System, improved ballast design, precision station keeping, and persistent live video feed; was the result of teams who engaged deeply, leaned in to hard problems, created boldly, cared about the details, and owned every outcome. Gryphon Retrofit shows why World View exists: to inspire, create, and explore new perspectives for a radically improved future. Thank you to every team member whose work made this mission possible. You’ve helped us redefine what persistent stratospheric capability can be, and you’ve inspired what comes next. Let’s keep building. #WorldView #Stratosphere #Innovation #Teamwork #Aerospace #Leadership #Culture #Engineering #HighAltitude

On this day 11 years ago, history was made. The StratEx flight proved what’s possible in the stratosphere, paving the way for new frontiers of exploration. Today we celebrate that legacy and the vision it continues to inspire! Alan Eustace ascended to over 135,000 feet before the record-setting skydive back to Earth. This milestone demonstrated the power of high-altitude ballooning and helped lay the groundwork for new innovations that we are progressing today!

From this vantage point, every detail matters. The perspective we gain from flying through the atmosphere and up to the stratosphere isn’t just breathtaking, it’s essential. Each World View flight collects critical data that helps us better understand and protect our world. *Footage is sped up to show 25 minutes in 15 seconds.

POV: It’s the morning of a launch at Spaceport Tucson. The air is still, the crew is in motion, payload secured, envelope stretched across the ground. Every step is deliberate, every hand essential. Precision here determines performance miles above. #WSW2025

Go, Fawkes 1! Introducing the Phoenix system, a lightweight, rapidly deployable stratospheric balloon system built for tactical real-time intelligence and surveillance. Reaching altitudes up to 75,000 ft with a 720-mile range, a Phoenix system could be launched with as few as two operators. With multiple payload configurations and reusable hardware, it’s mission-ready in just hours. Today's first test flight validated several key development milestones for the system. Data captured today will inform our next round of tests as we harden the system and flight operations.
