    I 100% agree with this post. As someone who’s been both a business owner and an employee in many different roles, I’ve learned that people are most productive — and most willing to give their best — when they feel genuinely appreciated, when they are challenged, when they are trusted in the jobs where we spend so much of our lives. I once had a boss, Austin U., who was always training new people, not because there was high turnover, but because he was constantly looking for ways to help his employees move up in the ranks. I asked him if he ever got tired of doing that, and he said no. His philosophy was simple: if he could help better the lives of those willing to work hard, that was his way of showing he cared about them as whole people — not just as employees. That philosophy left a lasting impression on me. With his encouragement, I advanced quickly in my career — which was intimidating at first, but ultimately helped me build a more stable and confident life as a newly divorced person. Today, in my role at WW Clyde I feel that same kind of appreciation, that same kind of trust and challenge that keeps me engaged. This company truly invests in its people. It’s reflected in the little things — like having a standing desk, a small heater at my workspace, or snacks and drinks available when needed — as well as the big things, like employee appreciation activities, mountain biking events, and family days at Boondocks. Even though I’m not in a leadership role, I know I matter here — and that sense of value inspires me to give my best every day.
