But what if we could take mobile coverage to the skies? We recently conducted a demo with Nokia and XM2 to use a drone as a temporary tower to quickly restore connectivity during a community’s greatest hour of need.

XM2 used Emesent Hovermap during the filming of Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, to capture scenes in 3D for visual effects and post-production. Typically flying high-end cameras for aerial shots, XM2 will sometimes swap them out for Emesent Hovermap to scan entire environments with LiDAR — providing accurate spatial data to help integrate VFX with real-world stunts. This behind-the-scenes work isn’t limited to just one blockbuster. Emesent Hovermap has also made appearances (behind the camera) in James Bond, Star Wars, Fast & Furious, and more.
