The most recent appropriations for the United States Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

🚨 The xTechOverwatch finals are officially underway!    40 finalists are pitching their autonomous unmanned systems virtually to Army and United States Department of War experts—technologies designed to enhance situational awareness and operational readiness for Soldiers on the battlefield.    The competition will wrap up this October at the Autonomy and Unmanned Systems Summit V, where participants will showcase their tech to Army and DOW stakeholders during a live experimentation event. 🏆 Congratulations to the winners of xTechPacific: FieldLine Industries, HavocAI, Research Innovations Incorporated, and ZeroMark, Inc.!   After a week of live experimentation in Hawaii, select technologies rose to the top—showing real-world impact, scalability, and mission readiness in the Indo-Pacific theater. Innovators worked directly with Soldiers and Army experts, refining their solutions through hands-on feedback and operational testing.    Each winner earned $35K and the opportunity to submit a proposal for a Direct to Phase II Army SBIR contract worth up to $2M—a major step toward transitioning their tech into the hands of the warfighter.    The xTechPacific winners proved their mission-critical potential and readiness to shape the future of defense across the INDOPACOM region 🌏.     Special thanks to our partners, U.S. Army Pacific, the Army Catalyst Pathfinder Program, 25th Infantry Division and U.S. Army Hawai'i, the 8th Theater Sustainment Command, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), and U.S. Pacific Fleet, whose leadership and collaboration made this competition a success.     We're energized by what’s ahead—for these trailblazing companies and for the Army they’re helping to shape.
