From founding a city-wide program to directing a Family Resource Center, this next chapter excites me. I am honored to share that I’ve accepted a new role as the FRC Director for the Ocean View, Merced Heights, Ingleside (OMI) neighborhoods with the YMCA of Greater San Francisco! For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of launching and leading the Peer Parent Partner Program (4Ps). Together with government agencies and community partners, we built a cross-agency referral system, served hundreds of San Franciscan families, and ensured the program's sustainability for the next three years. In my new role, I will be serving the OMI neighborhoods and overseeing multiple community initiatives. This includes a food bank, differential response, parenting groups, and case management services. I'm deeply grateful for my team at Urban Services YMCA, and our partners in this important work. This is a new chapter filled with challenges and opportunities, and I look forward to strengthening community impact. We are thrilled to welcome Derick Brown, M.A. as the YMCA of Greater San Francisco’s new Chief Advancement and Strategic Partnerships Officer. This is more than a leadership announcement — it’s a milestone in our journey to accelerate Vision 2030 and expand the Y’s impact across the Bay Area. With over 20 years of civic leadership, Derick has dedicated his career to advancing equity, strengthening partnerships, and building healthier, more connected communities. His arrival comes at a transformative moment for YGSF. From the opening of the Dogpatch YMCA at Crane Cove to the upcoming Power Station YMCA and Aquatic Center, and the revitalization of Camp Jones Gulch and the Peninsula Family YMCA, we are reimagining what community well-being looks like. Big things are coming to Crane Cove Park! 🎉 Last year we teamed up with students from Potrero Kids and Red Bridge to help design a new children’s play area. Soon we’ll bring their ideas to life with two playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for older kids, plus a fenced dog park 🐕🦺. Projected to open by the end of this year. But the fun doesn’t stop now! Enjoy Dogpatch Paddle 🛶 or stay active at the Dogpatch YMCA of Greater San Francisco 🏋️♀️, both open throughout construction.

On Saturday, June 21, eleven of our youth and their families from our Bayview YMCA community attended and participated in the Golden State Warriors & Waymo community bike event at Chase Center. Youth received a free bike and helmet, got to meet Golden State Warriors player, Gui Santos, and enjoyed various activities!
