Pretty ironic that Google’s first real competitor runs on a transformer architecture and is now building a Chromium browser But great for the world, can't imagine the AI boom without OpenAI Big tech doesn't get enough credit for open-source: React + React Native + PyTorch = Meta TypeScript + VSCode = Microsoft Golang + Attention Is All You Need = Google And great for startups too - we benefit from all of these at Fillout and Zite (not to mention commercial projects like AWS, Github, Azure)

I think we underrate shipping velocity when choosing what tools to rely on. It’s common wisdom in hiring: better to recruit someone with a bit less experience but a really steep learning curve. In 6 months, they’ll be way ahead of the pack. The same applies to products. You could choose the CRM that’s been around for decades and has more features today. Or you could pick one built by a team that ships relentlessly. In our software stack, I’ve been happiest with vendors like Dub.co (affiliate software, led by Steven Tey and team), Mintlify (documentation platform by Han Wang & co), Attio (awesome team building next gen CRM out of London) and Render (founded by Anurag, employee number 7 at Stripe). All newer solutions, all improving very fast and shipping great software. And of course our goal is to be that vendor for forms (Fillout) and business apps (Zite).

Automate your business and build custom internal tools

A while back I posted this error management dashboard I use to manage n8n errors. Since people really liked it and were interested in building their own, I figured I'd show how you could build one using Zite! In the video I also delve deep into some of the inner workings of the system to show you how you can trigger backend workflows from n8n and other interesting tidbits for troubleshooting issues. Link below!

New affiliates can refer both Zite and Fillout for up to 1 year with 30% recurring commissions. Faster payouts → automatic via ACH, 30 days after purchase Better tracking → new dashboard, multiple referral links, improved analytics Two-way incentives → referrals earn 50% extra Zite credits on signup Thanks to all our affiliates for spreading the word about Fillout & Zite 🙏

Our eng team just keeps shipping. You can now bulk create and update records in Zite. Example use cases: apps that intake CSVs, editing a table of records in one go, or syncing data between systems. Bulk create and update is also available in the Zite databases API.

Most vibe coding products are chasing every use case. Code generation makes it technically possible to spin up a consumer social app or a full CRM, and everything in between. But code generation still has serious limitations, and building apps that actually work in production is another story. At Zite, we're 100% focused on business software (internal + external). We’re not the tool for making the next billion-dollar consumer play, and that’s okay. Even doing a narrow slice of software generation well is very hard. We'd rather have our full focus on getting that right than trying to do everything.

Helping owners & operators scale through systems integration

I don't know what the tech scene will look like when my kids enter the workforce, but I just had a crazy moment. I was working on implementing a table of contents so a viewer could click a section and it would auto-scroll to the correct section. In showing it to my 10-year old, he said "That's cool! Can you make it so that the section you're currently on displays as a different color in the sidebar?" So we sat down with Wispr Flow and he dictated it to Zite, and after a little debugging, voila! Might have to start more Friday night vibe-coding sessions with my kid :)
