“After turning 50 this year, I decided I wanted to approach aging differently from other people. I'm not content to sit back and watch my body deteriorate, as if there's nothing I can do about it. With April's help, I've identified patterns of stress that sap my energy, begun to take my nutrition needs more seriously (while still having fun), and clarified exactly what I want my health future to look like. I have clear goals and a straightforward path to those goals, and in April, a partner who will hold me accountable. I referred family members to her and now refer my executive coaching clients to her as well. If you want to get healthy and be truly well, and especially if you refuse to "go gentle into that good night," then I highly recommend April!”

2. PRESERVE the world’s most threatened hot zone habitats, so that the land, species, and benefits remain for future generations.
With dual, complimentary initiatives, The Forecastle Foundation serves to both educate and protect. It raises awareness on one of the most important ecological issues of our time, while preserving the most endangered biodiversity zones on the planet.
Hotspots are the richest areas of biodiversity in the world. Covering only 2.3 percent of the Earth's land surface, they account for more than 50 percent of all plant species and 42 percent of all terrestrial vertebrate species. They play a vital role in regulating world temperatures, as well as providing a number of necessities we all use on a regular basis, including food, medicine, paper, detergents, cosmetics, and countless other products. The Forecastle Foundation seeks to preserve these critical habitats, and educate on how our daily actions affect these fragile, critical life zones.

In the fall of 2008, twenty individuals formed an organization known as the Kentuckiana Celtic Foundation (KCF). This organization would include all Celtic groups and nationalities. The KCF adopted “Celts on the River” as the identity slogan, and is registered with the Secretary of State as a non-profit foundation. The word “Kentuckiana” in the organization name is used to include a substantial number of people of Celtic heritage who live in Indiana as well as Kentucky. Our intent is to sponsor…

The word “Kentuckiana” in the organization name is used to include a substantial number of people of Celtic heritage who live in Indiana as well as Kentucky. Our intent is to sponsor events on both sides of the Ohio River.
The inaugural Celts on the River concert was held in the summer of 2009 at the New Albany Amphitheater. This fun-filled, seven-hour event included food, vendors, information booths, and music and would not have been possible without the help and support from the City of New Albany. Other generous sponsors and donors enabled us to make this a free event for the community. With over 2,000 attendees, the Celts on the River concert was one of the largest events to be held at this venue.
