Methodological rigor and ethical considerations in Internet-mediated research

This article reviews the methodological and ethical challenges of undertaking research using the Internet. The authors review methodological issues that may compromise the internal and external validity of Internet research, such as representativeness of samples, sample bias, and respondent bias. In addition to reviewing fundamental ethical problems associated with Internet research, the authors review new constraints imposed by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act legislation…
This article reviews the methodological and ethical challenges of undertaking research using the Internet. The authors review methodological issues that may compromise the internal and external validity of Internet research, such as representativeness of samples, sample bias, and respondent bias. In addition to reviewing fundamental ethical problems associated with Internet research, the authors review new constraints imposed by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act legislation. They provide an overview of minimal safeguards needed to maintain the confidentiality of Internet-mediated research.

Our Scrum team "Jiu Jitsu" implemented the Dashboard for Johnson Controls Panoptix Software Suite, which provided a centralized launch-pad for all Panoptix applications. Dashboard allowed users to drag-and-drop frequently-used application icons to their landing page, and further customize these widgets to view high-level building/energy details. In addition, we provided a Style Guide to all Development teams to ensure Panoptix applications provided a consistent look & feel and User Experience.

BREAKING: The Knowledge Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot is now in public preview. If you’ve ever dealt with stale pages, broken links, or inconsistent tagging in SharePoint… this is a big deal. Most companies are drowning in SharePoint content. Copilot depends on that content to generate answers. If your library is messy, your AI outputs will be messy too. The Knowledge Agent fixes that in 3 ways: 1️⃣ Metadata chaos → It auto-suggests metadata columns and tags files for you. → No more hunting, no more compliance nightmares. 2️⃣ Workflow complexity → Forget Power Automate. Just describe what you want in plain English. → Example: “When a new policy is uploaded, notify HR and archive the old version.” → It builds the workflow for you. 3️⃣ Content freshness → It flags outdated pages, broken links, and stale docs. → Even better, it suggests new pages based on what people are searching for. Copilot isn’t just reactive anymore. Most overcomplicate SharePoint. Just because you can does not mean you should. You don’t always need Power Automate to copy or move files. Here’s a simple way to publish documents...no coding, no workflows, and no IT tickets. Using rules + metadata, you can get the following outcome, - Trigger a move or copy when a status changes (e.g. Ready to Publish) - Push the document straight into your publishing library - Autofill metadata like Target Audience automatically In other words.... - Drafts stay in your working library. - Approved docs appear in your live site. - Metadata does the heavy lifting.
