For example, you can use tools like Figma to design and communicate just about any idea to stakeholders. Make the requirements as accessible and understandable as possible. I would focus on creating different artifacts based on the audience (i.e. formal presentation, prototype, handouts, etc). Process integration is an area of challenge since everyone has their own way of doing things. The key is standardizing critical workflows—from development methodologies and code review processes to deployment pipelines and quality assurance protocols—while ensuring all team members, regardless of location, utilize consistent toolsets and follow identical procedures. There are so many tools on the market now, so it's important to agree early in the process on how things are going to be integrated, but at the same time, you want to have some flexibility to be able to adapt your processes as things change.

Focus on the clarity of outcomes as a starting point. What are we trying to achieve? Make sure the team is fully aligned with the outcomes. Reiterating this in group meetings and holding open discussions helps reinforce and test whether the team understands the outcomes. This is important because you're aligning what's important for project success first, which allows the team to blend together and start building relationships around a common mission and goals. People have different cultures, upbringings, and habits, but we're all human and share a common desire to achieve results and win. Let that be the focus, so shared values start to emerge. This will pave the way for cultural alignment.

First and foremost, the program objectives must be crystal clear to all team members. Do they understand the objectives and mission? Do they agree or disagree with them? You can uncover this through one-on-one meetings with each team member. I find this is more effective than large-scale meetings where the objectives are laid out. This may be time-consuming, but if you can get everyone on the same page, the program will be more successful. If certain people don't get on board, then you have to determine if you have the right people on the team. You must ensure that the team's values align with the program. If not, you may need to make changes.

I would start with the end in mind. Identify what successful outcomes look like for both parties. This will help facilitate constructive conversations and highlight any imbalances. If this is clear upfront, then you can both work to rectify the discrepancies. Keep in mind that leverage is a big factor here. If a partner has more leverage, you may need to give more than you receive in return. However, think about the long game. The more partners you have and experience you gain, the more leverage you'll have over time.
