You've lost a client's trust due to unrealistic expectations. How will you earn it back?
Gift them additional time and re-do the promised work and deliver earlier than expected deadline. Earning a client's trust back can be challenging but with the right client and the right attitude it can be done.

Your brand is facing a crisis with a viral hashtag. How do you navigate and protect your online reputation?
The most important thing is to act quickly and to make risk management a priority as you diffuse the situation. In some cases, working with your company's PR team is a good option, as they may be able to provide options if it's a situation that extends beyond your own experience.

You're debating social media strategies with your team. How do you choose the best one to adopt?
When it comes to social media strategy, your strategy should not be fed simply by the things you're seeing on other brands' social feeds. Instead, you should always be strategic and create a solid plan from year to year where you list the goals you'd like to accomplish with your social program so that you can align your strategy and leverage it to achieve those goals. Example: Want to do more with your customers on social? Start posting more testimonial videos featuring customers - perhaps starting with one per month.

I volunteered at ACE first as part of my Community Service Learning requirement for my Creative Non-Fiction course at Assumption College. I found the work of helping children succed in school very inspiring. Working there was one of the hilights of my entire career. I will never forget one young first grade boy who I helped with his spelling sentences, which were about his family who still lived back in Africa. Every year since March 2017, I visit the classroom of 5th grade teacher, Joann Severance at Mayo Elementary School in Holden, MA for Holden's Community Reading Day and read a teacher-approved story (Dr. Seuss' Hooray for Deefendorfor Day in 2017 & 2018 and a book about kindness in 2019). After reading, I lead a conversation about the book with the students to find a way to connect the story to their lives . In 2017, I inspired the young females in my Womens' Studies group at Assumption College to write motivational notes to encourage the kids to live out their dreams through working hard in school and supported the club in donating bookmarks to the 5th grade students as a way to encourage reading in children.

The project was managed by Unum HR Scholar program Managers Hanako Cashin and Eric Anderson. I met with business partners Joana and Benjamin, to help foster communication, develop a formal proposal for the changes that we planned to make to the site, communicated with scholars/managers when we had project needs, created a website tutorial to train members of the scholar community, oversaw the facilitation of the training and delegated needs for the project as I became aware of them based on project partners' capacity and skills. Both Joana Jani and Benjamin Tracy were essential members of the team. Joana began the project from the ground up and connected HR manager Hanako Cashin to add me to the project team. Her willingness to take part in the project while doing work for her team was excellent and she was happy to provide any kind of assistance the project required. Benjamin Tracy helped set the site up, and make it truly a 'site'. He had a wealth of technical knowledge that was very useful in building the site and he was happy to share that knowledge with business partners. His delivery of training on the site was strong as well.

I met with Benefits individuals, including an experienced senior DBS about a Social Security decision process that needed to be streamlined. I also streamlined the written SSDI workflow for ease of access by the Disability Benefits Specialists who use this document. I continued to meet with Benefits subject matter experts to ensure that the document included everything that it needed to meet company standards while also being accessible and user-friendly.

Social Media Journalism Final Article

This project was a final for my Social Media Journalism course at Assumption College during my Fall 2015 semester. It required me to choose a Twitter hashtag that was associated with a social movement and expand upon it in a way that fit into the requirements of journalism, in that it was local, newsworthy, and interesting.
