GVSU Senior Engineering Project
-
My senior engineering project was the development of an Automated Buffing machine for Autocam Medical. My primary task for the project was programming the machine, including the buffing operation, and movements of the robot arm. The machine is currently in use at Autocam for production. See the attached video for more details.

Bluetooth Toaster
-
While taking EGR 401 Advanced Product Design, I worked with a team to develop a bluetooth operated toaster. The device used an Arduino to control the duration of the toasting operation, communicate with the bluetooth app to select and display both settings and time remaining, and to cancel the toasting if selected by the operator. an OLED display was also added and programed to display the current setting of the toaster and the time remaining.

Meclab Controls Project

The final project for EGR 450 Manufacturing Control Systems, this project consisted of programming a small scale manufacturing line. The project required an understanding of Allen-bradley PLC programming, including HMI development, PLC ladder logic programming, Ethernet connection validation, and troubleshooting both software and hardware.

Vending Machine

The final project for EGR 226 Microcontroller Programming, this project consisted of developing a small vending machine capable of dispensing packs of gum to the user.

EGR 107 RoboSockey Competition

Worked with a team to design, prototype, test, build, and troubleshoot a small autonomous robot. The robot was designed to collect various balls within an arena and then transport them to one of the four goals. Our design placed in the top ten of the competition and was one of the first to qualify.

Icreate 360 Mock Business

Worked as part of a team to create a mock surfing and skateboarding business. During the year, the team created both a surfboard and a longboard from scratch. The team also worked to create the workings of a functional business. At the end of the semester, the longboard and surfboard were sold at an auction.

Adjustable Prosthetic Leg

Designed a 3D printable prosthetic that is able to adjust to the users height and leg dimensions.

Eagle Scout Project

This project was conducted to achieve the rank of eagle scout. The objective of the project was to build and place benches within Duncan Woods, a park within Grand Haven Michigan. 4 benches were created and installed throughout the park.
