    SHA rescues fresh and healthy food to feed the food insecure in our community. 40% of the food in the US is thrown away. 1 in 6 people in Atlanta do not know where their next meal will come from. A family of 4 that is food insecure misses 100 meals a month.

    SHA has rescued over 8 million pounds of food/ (almost 7 million meals) -- over 1.5 million pounds last year alone. SHA has over 400 volunteers making this happen every day.
