What makes a good social video?
- [Instructor] If you overlook the small details when making videos, your audience will pick up on it and then the video is just not going to be effective. Whether you are on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn or even Pinterest, you'll find video content becoming a bigger part of the in-app experience. Why? Because video content is typically more attention grabbing and engaging than a static photo. And in most cases, the longer a viewer engages with a piece of content, the more likely the algorithm will boost that content to a wider audience. So here are a few things that will make your video better and help it to stand out. The first one is good design. Design is a visual communication tool, so use images, colors and text to emphasize what you want to convey. Animation. After you have something that looks great, bring it to life by animating the layers. Make sure to not overdo it. In most cases, little gestures will do. Remember to use the animation as a tool to tell a story. High quality footage. If you plan to shoot yourself, make sure you have good lighting, audio, and of course, a stable camera. If there is talking, include subtitles. Not only subtitles and text make your videos more accessible to those who are deaf or hard of hearing, they also allow viewers to engage, even if their volume is off. Keep your videos short and sweet. Very few people are going to watch videos on social media if they last more than five to 10 minutes. That's why it's important to keep your videos bite sized and easy to consume, while still providing value. Focus on the story. Grabbing the audience's attention is crucial, but keeping them glued is even more important, and to do so, you must craft high-quality content that will make them want to stick around. Your video must not only look, sound and feel great, but it should also share a compelling story that has wit, relevance, and value. Now, these things may seem obvious at first glance, however, many creators don't realize how difficult it is for viewers to pay attention. As long as you follow these simple rules and stay true to yourself while doing so, there is no reason why your business cannot succeed with marketing videos.
