In fact, cloud security is often cited as one of the main reasons why companies can't migrate their data or a particular application to the cloud. One of the biggest misconceptions many companies have about the cloud is around cloud security. Is the cloud secure? Can you trust putting your application in the public cloud? After all, it is the public cloud. How could the public cloud possibly be safer than my very private data center? Well, in the early days of the cloud, this concern was widely held. But in these early days, the cloud was mostly used for prototyping and testing.
