Certifications and codes of ethics
There are a number of organizations that provide education and certifications for aspiring cybersecurity professionals. In order to maintain your membership in these organizations, you're expected to abide by their code of ethics. Let's take a quick look at a few of these codes. (ISC)2 is best known for their CISSP certification, a mid-level career cert that's applicable for practitioners and leaders alike. The (ISC)2 Code of Ethics includes four canons: Protect society, the common good, necessary public trust and confidence, and the infrastructure. Act honorably, honestly, justly, responsibly, and legally. Provide diligent and competent services to principles and advance and protect the profession. ISACA offers the CISA certification for auditors, as well as their CISM and CRISC certifications, which are very popular for professionals seeking leadership roles.
