Defining repository insights
Here we have an organizational picture of all the different features that are available. We're going to dive into something called insights. Why do you care about insights? Well, they're a dashboard that provide a range of metrics and data visualizations about your GitHub repository. This includes things like what can you do to be more efficient, effective, or have a more collaborative environment. So if we take a look at this insights directory right here, look at the activity overview. What this does is it shows in some particular period, a week, a month, a year, exactly what's happening for either all of your repositories or for a particular repository. If, for example, you're an engineering manager, you may want to look at pull requests, and you may want to look at the pull requests that are open, the ones that have been merged, and the ones that are closed, so that you can see if there's some kind of organizational issue that you need to take care of.
