- [Instructor] Here's more about compute engine. We have two instances. One is running, one is not. What would you do if you wanted to make more instances like this one, so that you could set up high availability? Well, what you would do is you would stop whatever instance you have once it was configured correctly, and then you would create what's called a machine image. And it takes a minute or two, so I've actually done that already. So you can see over here, I have a machine image, and its source is that stopped image. Now, once you have a machine image, then what you can do is when you create an instance, you can create an instance based on a machine image. So what I'm doing is I am creating a new instance based on that instance, and I just put one text file on there just so that you could kind of see what it was.
