Why LinkedIn?
Did you know that there are over 58 million companies on LinkedIn? There are also nearly 830 million and counting members in over 200 countries. It’s the perfect place to jump start your online presence in the professional world, especially if you are looking to change careers and or promote your business products and services. After this lesson, you'll recognize the vast network LinkedIn offers as you create a strategy for your job search and or landing the clients you desire. So LinkedIn is used by recruiters seeking top talent for open opportunities at their companies. Over 90% of them use this platform to find and assess the skills of job seekers. The next reason to increase your activity on LinkedIn is thought leadership, which is sharing your professional knowledge. It can boost your presence while searching for a job, solidify your position in the market for your small business services and or products, and even unlock opportunities for collaboration. Martin Rowinski, the CEO of a corporate board recruitment company, states that thought leadership is significant in recruiting because a jobseekers thought leadership transfers credibility and trustworthiness transferred to their potential employer. The same goes for small business owners. And finally, linkedin is where you can network with like minded individuals and even allows you to make new connections all over the world. According to Influencer Marketing Hub, once you join, each connection made introduces you to 400 new people. This means one person times three. So every time you make a new connection, you're also becoming visible to two others in that person's network. I want to challenge you to connect with five new people this week. If you do the math, that could mean 2000 new people joining your LinkedIn network. I'm excited for all the new connections you're going to make.
