- Hopefully, by this point, you can see how deliberately investigating different problem frames and contexts help you uncover opportunities that are truly innovative and impactful. While I presented the approach as a set of linear steps, innovation work is rarely that straightforward. There are constantly new contexts to consider, changes in technology, or evolving user understanding. Continuous research helps you stay ahead, allowing you to identify and address changes before they happen. Your team should be ready to cycle back through any of the steps and techniques multiple times, especially if a situation is complex, you learn something new or external conditions change. Think back to January, 2020. I bet that almost everyone had to reconsider what and how you work when the COVID pandemic hit, but you could also have much smaller, more mundane reasons to reframe and reconsider.
