- That your risk team needs cyber threat intelligence is obvious, and yet this team is often overlooked. Why? Because they might not sit within cybersecurity or because cybersecurity itself is all about risk mitigation. So first, let's think about how you assess risk, how the risk team is going to use that intelligence, what other teams can benefit, and then what type of intelligence is useful to this particular team. Risk is often described as the combination of the likelihood that something will happen, whether or not you are vulnerable to that thing happening, and then the impact of that thing happening.
