- As Adobe Camera Raw has grown in capabilities and in some ways, complexities, it's become necessary to expand the controls that it's offered, and this is really driven by the preferences. Here in Camera Raw, I want you to notice that in the upper right corner is a gear icon. Clicking this is going to open up a set of preferences. This is going to allow you to customize the settings. Let's start at the beginning here and I'll go through some of the most important ones. Color themes are quite useful as they allow you to change the experience of working with the UI. I recommend the default interface, which is the correct shade of gray for photo editing, but depending upon your personal experience, you might find other ones useful. For example, a darker UI or maybe a little bit brighter. In general, I would caution you against going into something that's really light as it will affect how you edit the pictures. Generally…
