In the last video, you saw the various management tools that we can use to interact with Azure. The one you are familiar with is the Azure Portal. In this video, we'll talk about the next one and that is, Azure PowerShell. This is Microsoft's cross-platform scripting interface. It's a text-based console where you can type your commands to execute operations in Azure. Cross-platform means it supports multiple operating systems and isn't confined to just Windows computers. A scripting platform is especially useful for tasks that require repetition, consistency, and scalability. For example, if you need to deploy 100 virtual machines, doing that manually through the Azure portal is going to be very cumbersome. But using a script, it's going to be way quicker. PowerShell uses a Verb-Noun semantic for its cmdlets. We use the term "cmdlets" to refer to PowerShell commands, and the Verb-Noun is a cmdlet.
