Prioritize product features

- When you have a number of features and ideas for your product, either provided by your team, or from your interviews with customers, it can be difficult to prioritize them. There are many ways you can think about your features. Here are a series of three ways that I like to use in conjunction with each other. The first strategy is to look at the current marketing conditions and how they relate to your product. If you plot out a timeline, beginning today, along the way, you'll encounter events that will have a positive or negative effect on your product. As you plan ahead, forward along the timeline, pinpoint events that will happen and draw an arrow. The length of the arrow tells you how much it will push you forward, or how much it will set you back. For instance, if I'm making a mobile app, I might know that the next version of the operating system is in beta and will be coming out soon. That release will drag me backwards, because I'll need to make sure that my app is compatible…
