Preparing for talent review session number two
- Once the first succession planning session is complete, it's the facilitator's job to gather data on the candidates. The purpose is to gain information that will be helpful in the second session, as well as the subsequent development of the individuals on the list. For example, let's say we've narrowed our candidate pool for a VP of sales down to three potential candidates. The data that we want to gather can vary but typically we'll want to see their resume, performance reviews, and assessment data if available. Assessments that are helpful include psychological assessments, behavior assessments, critical thinking assessments, and the like. You can see an example of the types of candidate details to cover in the master succession spreadsheet in your exercise files.
