How it works: • The surgeon performs an osteotomy (cutting the bone). • The bone ends are gradually pulled apart, and new bone grows in the gap, a process called distraction osteogenesis. • The motorized IM nail helps separate the bone ends slowly, allowing for safe bone growth.
