Last week was Physician Associate Week. I had a whole week of posts and content planned to celebrate and highlight the PA role. But instead of posting, I decided to pause and reflect. This time last year, I was filled with excitement and anticipation about the PA profession. I shared openly about my journey and my hopes for the future. This year feels different. My silence hasn’t been from a lack of passion, but from a place of processing and reflecting on where the role is heading, and what that means for me personally and professionally. The truth is, being a PA is rewarding, but it’s also currently a journey filled with uncertainty and redefinition. The path isn’t always linear, and sometimes reflection is just as important as progress. My advice to anyone considering the PA profession is to take time to understand what this journey involves: 💭 Research the course, your university, and what support exists beyond graduation. 💭 Prepare yourself for both the challenges and the rewards. 💭 Stay engaged with the conversations shaping the profession, because your awareness will shape your experience. For me, this PA Week wasn’t about sharing content or being excited. It was about realigning my “why.” Remembering that purpose isn’t always loud, sometimes it pauses, reflects, and redefines itself. So that’s what this season is for me: finding my footing as a Physician Associate within the UK medical system, pressing on, and looking ahead to the future of the profession and how I can play my part in shaping it for the better. #PAWeek #PhysicianAssociate #HappyPAWeek
