🔵 Wearables are no longer just tracking steps—they’re transforming healthcare. In 2025, wearables will move beyond data collection to become true enablers of preventive healthcare. From chronic disease management to real-time health monitoring, these technologies will drive personalised treatments and early interventions like never before. 🏥 Luxembourg is leading the way. Researchers at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) - University of Luxembourg) are pioneering digital biomarkers to track #Parkinson’s disease progression and treatment response. By turning raw health data into actionable insights, wearable technologies will shift healthcare from reactive to preventive, predictive, and personalised. ❌ But there’s a challenge: While the clinical benefits of telemonitoring devices and digital therapeutics are undeniable, securing reimbursement for these solutions across Europe remains complex and fragmented. 💬 Do you have examples of other wearable technologies that make a difference in preventive medicine? I sincerely believe that this permanent and massive recording of health data by our wearables will be leveraged by many new applications in the #future, for the benefit of all. That's progress. That's inevitable. And that's a good thing. If my connected watch asked me tomorrow to consent to making my data, recorded in real time, available to public research, I'd probably accept. As long as this information sharing is anonymized and complies with GDPR rules in general, I vote for it!
