A very quick run through dozer controls in this Liebherr 716, and how our machine control system helps the operator. Although this system is MC1 3D GNSS machine control, most of these basics would apply to 2D also… the biggest differences being; with 3D we know where we are in X,Y & Z… so we can grade to a complex 3D design like a road DTM (digital terrain model), and follow line work/boundaries etc. A 2D system just focuses on the blade position & height (Z) using a rotating laser for reference - 2D can’t give you your X/Y position. 2D is ideal for flat, single slope, or dual slope applications… #whenithastoberight

Here’s an interesting fact about motion blur that I discovered a while ago but rarely hear people talk about. In Blender, when rotating an object around a chosen point, strange distortions often occur. We usually use control rigs based on empty objects to animate complex 3D models. But even if the object rotates around such a controller, the key point is that the motion blur data is still taken from the object’s origin. That’s why it’s extremely important to place the origin at the same point where the rotation occurs. Hopefully, this helps anyone who has occasionally run into odd motion blur artifacts.
