I'm happy to say that NERC's AI for Environmental Science (AI4ES) programme has just gone live. This £12M programme is seeking bold, innovative ideas with the potential to shape the future of environmental science. We are looking for for research and innovation projects to develop creative and novel approaches to tackle complex environmental challenges in the following three areas: Environmental hazards and human health Terrestrial ecology Oceans and climate Click on the link below for further details of the funding opportunity (https://lnkd.in/e2H9GQUF)
I have significantly been working in Water and Environmental Science projects and papers for 12+ years using AI and Machine Learning (ML) models and algorithms. I have even proposed a set of advanced algorithms for training ML models very effectively and efficiently. So, I am enthusiastic about collaborating in these projects.
Simon Gardner, thanks for sharing this amazing call. I don't believe I am eligible as an independent researcher; however, if a team applying for the call would like additional support in this area, I am always open to discussing the geospatial data needs and infrastructure for such a project. I would be happy to help.
You can count on me from us Simon Gardner
I'm keen to talk to teams who are looking for AI support and expertise in this space.
Using Remote Sensing, AI, and common sense to provide insight
3wWe are working on innovative Remote Sensing & AI based mapping of Nature types for the whole of Norway for the Norwegian Environmental Agency. It would be interesting to test this out in the UK too. Norway has a really good classification system for nature types. Please let me know if you are UK based organisation, and want to know more. Preferably someone with knowledge about UK specific systems for the typification of nature.
