$7 MILLION CREDIT FACILITY FOR ESTABLISHED MIDWEST MANUFACTURER: SLR Business Credit is pleased to announce the successful closing of a $7 million credit facility for a century-old manufacturer specializing in the durable goods sector. The company, which has a long-standing presence in the Midwest, sought SLR’s expertise to secure a more flexible credit solution to invigorate its operations and support its growth trajectory. Having faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the manufacturer is now strategically positioned for expansion. With the newly established Revolving Line of Credit from SLR, complemented by a real estate loan from a partner bank, the company is equipped with the liquidity necessary to execute its growth plans and enhance its market position. https://lnkd.in/gjsa7VT7

Credit downgrade came six (!) *days* before bankruptcy. Some market participants saw trouble a *year* earlier: First Brands, a major auto parts maker, filed for Chapter 11 this week with $11B in liabilities, one of the largest corporate failures of the year. Three days earlier, Fitch finally downgraded the company’s debt. Meanwhile, a competitor (ironically on the disqualified lender list) had already built a short position against the loans a year earlier. The liabilities list is loooong: - A patchwork of loans, factoring, and inventory-backed facilities (some off balance sheet). - Roughly $2B of that debt parked inside CLOs, now marked down to ~33 cents on the dollar. - Several private credit funds also exposed (and all of them held the loans at 93%+ of par at the end of Q2) In the opaque world of private credit, we don’t know what’s really happening until a borrower blows up (and by then, it’s too late). 👉 In my latest piece, I unpack what CLOs are, why they matter for LPs and what the First Brands collapse reveals about risk in private markets: https://lnkd.in/gYwfdt83 P.S. And yes, we'll talk about the difference between broadly syndicated loan CLOs and middle market CLOs - I know you've been dying to find out!

🚦 From roadblock to results - thanks to CBA! We recently worked with clients who were struggling to find a lender for their new owner-occupied purchase. The main challenge? Their existing car loan and credit card were impacting borrowing capacity. Initially, the only solution seemed to be using their cash savings to pay off those debts - but that would have meant reducing their purchase price significantly due to limiting their available funds to complete the transaction. ✨ The game changer: Commonwealth Bank CBA recently introduced a new policy offering huge benefits to clients with existing HECS-HELP debts: • A reduced servicing buffer if the HECS-HELP debt is due to be repaid within 5 years • And even better - the debt can be completely excluded if it’s due to be repaid within the next 12 months! For our clients, this change made all the difference. It allowed them to reach their desired purchase price without giving up their car loan or credit card - what we like to call a true win-win situation. 💫 When it comes to lending, every scenario tells a different story - and having a team who understands each lender’s policy can make all the difference. The right knowledge, the right lender, and the right strategy can turn a challenge into a smooth path to success. 🏡 Brett Cambey | Kingfisher Finance Group | Alex Gee

Loans entered into for personal, family, or household purposes are typically excluded from warehouse facility collateral portfolios due to the additional regulatory complexities and diligence required under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and state consumer laws. This update from Mayer Brown details why lenders prioritize loans that do not trigger these consumer protections, simplifying risk assessment and compliance in fund finance transactions. Securing a QM loan can be challenging without proper planning. Typically, a down payment of 20% to 25% is recommended, with 25% often being ideal. While 30% may occasionally be necessary, it's relatively uncommon. Even with a full documentation loan and without relying on private funds or creative financing, a 20% down payment is generally sufficient. Proper preparation can significantly ease the loan approval process. #QMLoan #DownPayment #LoanApproval #RealEstate #Financing #MortgageTips
