The Gathering for Justice’s Post

We are proud to honor Desiree Perez, CEO and Co-Founder of Roc Nation, with the Harry Belafonte Social Justice Award at our #20YearsOfImpact Gala Oct 13. As the head of Team Roc and a board member of REFORM Alliance and United Justice Coalition, Desiree has been leading humanitarian efforts and powering reforms across multiple sectors. As a bridge between culture and activism, she has connected valuable resources to the movement to shift narratives toward change and used her platform to elevate marginalized people. The Gathering for Justice worked with Desiree and Team Roc on various justice advocacy efforts, including pushing for Meek Mill’s release from prison, which highlighted probation reform, and calling for transparency, accountability, and justice in Kansas City, Kansas, where many women and families were abused by years of police corruption and cover-ups of crimes committed by former KCKPD detective Roger Golubski.
