Executive Director at Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment

We are honored to receive generous support from the Walton Family Foundation for the Getches-Wilkinson Center’s Western Water Policy Program. For more than four decades, this program has been a trusted source of insight and innovation in western water law and policy—convening leaders, generating ideas, and shaping reforms that ripple far beyond Colorado.    This gift comes at a pivotal time. Few issues are more consequential to the future of the American West than how we manage water. With the Foundation’s partnership, the WWPP will continue to drive forward new thinking and practical solutions—helping policymakers, advocates, and communities navigate the challenges ahead.

We’re thrilled to share a landmark advancement in CU Boulder’s commitment to sustainability — powered by philanthropy and innovation. Thanks to a $1.15 million commitment from the Walton Family Foundation, CU Boulder is bolstering two impactful programs: 📰The Water Desk — a program within the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information that connects journalists with resources to cover issues related to water policy in the West 💻Western Water Policy Program in the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment (University of Colorado Law School) — advancing training and research in water law, public policy and leadership At CU Boulder, sustainability stretches across disciplines to make an impact in Colorado and the nation. We are grateful for donors who share our mission to create a more resilient, sustainable future.
