📣 The way is now open to building a #EuroHPC mid-range #supercomputer 🖥️⚡in #Ireland ! A hosting agreement has been officially signed between the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and the University of Galway , paving the way for #CASPIr, a mid-range #HPC system capable of over 1️⃣5️⃣ petaflops or 1️⃣5️⃣ million billion operations per second! 🔬 Once operational, CASPIr will: ⚡Support cutting-edge #AI and #machinelearning workloads; ⚡Advance scientific #research, #innovation, and #industry applications in Ireland and across #Europe ⚡Strengthen the newly selected AI Factory IRL-Antenna part of the European AI Factory network 🛠️ Operated by the ICHEC (Irish Centre for High-End Computing) and co-funded by EuroHPC JU and the Government of Ireland, CASPIr will serve a wide range of users across Ireland and Europe.
