IUCN Climate & Energy’s Post

At the 🌍 𝗜𝗨𝗖𝗡 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 in Abu Dhabi, the 𝗖𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲+ team convened an expert panel to spotlight the power of 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘥, 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 to build long-term resilience in drought-prone landscapes. Drawing on experiences from 𝗭𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘄𝗲, 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮, 𝗠𝗼𝘇𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲, and the 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, the discussion highlighted how 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺-𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘊𝘉𝘈) - when anchored in ecosystems - can bridge local realities and global ambitions. 💬 Key insights came from: 🔹Simba Mandota, CBAScale+ Team Leader, IUCN Zimbabwe  🔹@Julio João, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Fisheries of Inhambane  🔹Carla Manjate, Programme Manager, IUCN Mozambique  🔹Alec Crawford, Director of Nature, International Institute for Sustainable Development  🔹Dr. Myrna Semaan, Secretary General, Friends of Nature and IUCN Climate Action Commission Member  🔹Helene Hoffmann, Project Manager, International Climate Initiative (IKI), Germany 👉 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘊𝘉𝘈𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦+?  This initiative supports community-led, nature-based climate adaptation in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Implemented by CARE, IUCN, IISD & FANRPAN with support from IKI, it empowers communities - especially women and marginalized groups - to design tailored solutions that restore ecosystems, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience to climate shocks. 🔗 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/d9gn-23m #IUCNCongress #WCC2025 #NatureBasedSolutions #ClimateAdaptation #CommunityBasedAdaptation #CBAScale #EbA #Resilience #Biodiversity #ClimateAction #SouthernAfrica IUCN | Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection | CARE Deutschland e.V. | Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network - FANRPAN | IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa | CARE Zimbabwe | CARE Zambia | CARE Mozambique
