In the race to secure the modern enterprise, identity is emerging as the ultimate control point — and Saviynt is betting that AI is the key to managing it at scale. This week, the Los Angeles–based identity security company announced sweeping upgrades to its platform, introducing agentic AI capabilities designed to automate one of cybersecurity’s most intractable problems: governing every identity, human and otherwise, across sprawling digital ecosystems. “AI is reshaping enterprise security at every level. Identities no longer belong only to people – they now extend to non-human users like machines, applications, and AI agents,” said Sachin K Nayyar, CEO of Saviynt. “Our latest AI innovations ensure that every identity is governed with the same rigor, context, and automation.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/ghVnRYVA

The rise of AI agents is reshaping how we work and how security teams think about identity. At Oktane 2025, Okta unveiled its next wave of innovation: an identity security fabric that protects every identity - human, service account, or AI agent. 🤖 AI agents are already part of business operations, connecting to sensitive systems, data, and APIs. But without identity-first controls, they can easily become the weakest link. That’s why Okta’s Launch Week ’25 focuses on: ✅ Discovering and governing AI agents as first-class identities ✅ Enforcing standards for secure agent-to-app connections with Cross App Access (XAA) ✅ Strengthening posture, governance, and threat protection, all within the Okta Platform 🎥 And if you missed Oktane, you can still catch the Best of Oktane: Recap Webinar: https://lnkd.in/guyYGgxy 🔗 Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/gvRMUhQZ #Okta #OktaDev #Oktane2025 #Identity #Security #AI #AgenticAI

Okta is rethinking identity security in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. New capabilities announced aim to bring AI agents under unified lifecycle management, enabling enterprises to govern nonhuman identities at scale with the same rigor applied to people. The roadmap also includes support for verifiable digital credentials, set to launch in fiscal 2027. These credentials are designed to provide tamper-proof, reusable identity data—potentially critical in reducing the risk of AI-powered fraud, misinformation, and synthetic identity attacks. As identity becomes the control plane for secure innovation, Okta is positioning itself at the intersection of AI adoption and zero trust enforcement. Agency without trust is reckless. Trust without agency is useless. That line from one of the presenters captured the essence of #IdentityDay in Stockholm for me. The discussions were not about products or features, but about principles: trust, flexibility, and the evolving role of identity in an AI-driven world. I spent the day with people who live and breathe #IAM and #IGA, and one thing became clear. Identity is no longer just an IT function. It has become the control layer of how modern organisations operate. One idea that stood out to me was the shift from shadow IT to shadow identities. As organisations begin using AI agents to perform tasks, those agents will make decisions, pull data, and execute workflows. But who are they? Should they not have an identity too, one that is verified, time-limited, and tokenized? If trust is the foundation of security, we will need new trust models for a world where humans and non-humans share the same digital workspace. Another theme that came up again and again was trust, not as a slogan, but as something that should be designed for. One example of this is the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP), but that is only part of the solution in a world with increasing complexity. Help desks are an excellent attack surface. Think about it, they are built to help and measured on speed to resolve tickets. In other words, there is a built in sense of urgency, perfect for hackers to exploit. Just-in-time access sounds great in theory. The challenge is how to make it work in practice without breaking workflows or trust. The future of IAM is not about monoliths or lock-ins. It's about agnostic architecture, with loosely coupled systems, interchangeable modules, and the freedom to combine what actually works across on-prem, hybrid and cloud. And finally, we are entering a phase where we no longer just need AI for IAM. We also need IAM for AI. A big thank you to all the presenters for sharing their excellent insights! #IAM #CyberSecurity #DigitalIdentity #AI #ZeroTrust

We’re in the middle of an identity crisis, and it’s reshaping how we think about security, data, and business itself. At our Navigate conference, I talked about how identity has evolved far beyond people. AI agents, bots, and service accounts now make up a growing share of identities — changing how we think about trust, access, and the protection of critical data. This new era of identity security is defined by speed, scale, and shape — where organizations must adapt faster, manage more identities than ever before, and secure an expanding digital ecosystem. It’s no longer just about control. It’s about connecting identity, data, and security to power innovation safely and confidently.
