Public health has been calling for interoperable provincial and territorial vaccine registries for over 20 years!
Yes! And it practically already exists! It’s been deployed in Nova Scotia for a number of years and has been very successful - a cloud-based platform developed by a Canadian company called CANImmunize! 🇨🇦🍁 Cameron Bell Paul Haycraft Kathryn MacDonald 🇨🇦
André, I completely agree — but that would require provinces to actually share.
thank you for this! This is a huge need and we must raise awareness of the impacts and importance in terms of health security and readiness
Cue the conspiracy “theorists” to start claiming some nefarious purpose here!!
André Picard a very easy task, and not even that costly. Apparently even a simple vaccine registry is beyond the skills of Canadian eHealth procurement now.
Good idea. It should be combined with a requirement for certain vaccines to be compulsory (MMR and others as required). Measles was largely eradicated and we can regain that status once again if we are serious.
