I'm Don Mccune. I'm President of Paisano Labs. Gamma ray measurements are used by geologists. Gamma rays are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and they're created by the natural decay of radioactive nuclei. The gamma rays helped the geologists map the various formations encountered while drilling an oil well. And then through this it deification process, they can track down the exact locations of hydrocarbons. They're very crucial and that they help the geologist improve or maximize the efficiency of the well. They help identify additional hydrocarbon reserves and they help minimize the production of of waste by products such as produced water.
