I attended an "alumni" lunch on Sunday ... for ex Standard Chartered staff. First time ever I've attended such an event anywhere. A good time was had by all and all that stuff. I would love to do it again. But here's the sting in the tail...of this tale. An alumni who had a storied career, awarded a datukship etc, happily mixed with everybody at the lunch. I didn't know him well, but was happy to shake his hand and bid goodbye, see you again etc etc. On Monday morning he was gone due to a sudden illness. On Sunday we all were happily chatting, and on Monday morning he's on next gathering's "Dearly Departed..." list. You never know when this can happen to you or anybody. Hi Adzhar, just to correct your calendar. Our alumi luncheon was on Sunday, and Datuk Iqbal passed away on Monday morning at 7.15 am.
