Regulating cloud and AI for a fair digital market The future of #cloud computing in Europe is being shaped by calls for clear, forward-looking #regulation. Arcep, the French telecom regulator, emphasizes that including cloud services in the #Digital #Markets #Act could foster a competitive, open and sustainable digital ecosystem. Key priorities include: 🔶 data portability 🔶 service interoperability 🔶 open access to digital resources which can support innovation and ensure balanced growth across the cloud sector. Lessons from telecoms show that stable #regulation encourages #investment while maintaining #market #fairness. 🍃 #Sustainability is another crucial focus. Designing cloud infrastructure and data centers with eco-friendly practices can reduce environmental impact and strengthen global competitiveness. As cloud technology evolves alongside AI, robust #regulation will help ensure a future-proof ecosystem, supporting innovation while keeping the market open for all players. ⛓️ SOURCE: https://lnkd.in/d8hZ3yFT

In Africa, connectivity has always been more than just calls. It’s an enabler of progress. From 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 to 𝐞-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚, telcos are at the center of innovation. But here’s the next frontier: 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. By governing and innovating with their data, telecoms can create entirely new service models, whether that’s targeted financial products, data-driven healthcare services, or localized content platforms. Cloudera provides the 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 that brings AI to where data lives. Whether on the edge, in the cloud, or on-premises. That’s how telcos across Africa are scaling, governing, and innovating at speed. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐲𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭.
