Aleph Zero decentralizes block production and finalization

Mainnet – Decentralized. The block production and finalization process on Aleph Zero is now in the hands of community validators! Starting now: – A permissionless rotation algorithm chooses block production and finalization committees from all community validators, shifting control from a few trusted nodes to a broader, decentralized community. – The Aleph Zero Foundation has one reserved seat in the 14-member block finalization committee. This ensures a swift response to unlikely future finalization issues while maintaining system decentralization. – The block production committee size has been reduced from 50 to 30 seats. This change extends the time a validator is not in the committee, allowing them to update their node without affecting staking rewards. Decentralization is one of blockchain’s core principles—it removes single points of failure, distributes power, and strengthens security. And it's here!
