It’s a huge honour to be elected at the governing board of the scientific committee for the study of obesity and metabolism of the Hellenic Endocrine Society. I do hope that we’ll manage to make a major contribution to addressing the obesity epidemic, with prevalence of childhood and adulthood obesity in Greece being ranked amongst the highest in Europe. Our objectives will be to improve health outcomes across society through research activities, education to share knowledge and promote best clinical practice, collaborating with key stakeholders to take effective prevention policies, and ensuring access of patients with obesity to comprehensive, multidisciplinary, personalized management of high standards with access to a variety of therapeutic solutions. International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) is in final stages of developing a consensus based Standard patient-Centered Outcome Measure Set addressing obesity.
