Engineering at 1Password

I am feeling simultaneously utterly exhausted and wildly energized? Must have attended a conference this week 😏 I spoke at Open Source North yesterday for the first time in years (comparing password-based authentication to skinny jeans, no less) and had a blast. Even at the first session of the day, the energy and engagement from folks was contagious! I adore our local Twin Cities tech-scene and yesterday's experience was no exception to the high-bar this community has set. I quickly found former coworkers who are now some of my closest friends, reconnected with folks from the community who I've gotten to know over the years, and was honored to meet so many new(-to-me) members of our community too! I didn't get to attend every talk I wanted to (hard to be in multiple places at once), but as usual the hallway-track and the speaker happy hour did not disappoint. My extroverted-self will be energized for some time. As always, my heart is full of gratitude for Jeff Urban and all the humans who make #osn2025 happen (volunteers, speakers, and attendees). Cheers to 10 years of Open Source North!

  • Me standing on a stage in an auditorium-like setting. The projected screen behind me reads "Wait... Are passwords like skinny jeans now?"
  • A sign at the Open Source North conference that reads "Celebrating 10 years of Learning, Sharing, and Connecting"
  • Snippet of a slide within a presentation that reads "Wait... are passwords like skinny jeans now?" with an image of pink jeans folded/stacked.
  • Me and my partner, Rick, smiling for a photo. The photo is taking self-style. We are both wearing lanyards from the conferences we were attending.

So honored and proud to have you back at OSN speaking, Amy Gebhardt! Always have appreciated your presence, joy, and expertise as part of the OSN community!
