Bengaluru-based startup BQP has raised an oversubscribed $4.9 million seed round, pushing its total funding to $6.6 million. The round was led by Monta Vista Capital, with participation from New York Ventures, Arc Ventures, Armory Square Ventures, Emergent Ventures, and existing backers like Paradigm Shift Capital and Griffiss Institute. The funds will fuel the expansion of BQP’s flagship platform, BQPhy, which targets mission-critical sectors including aerospace, defence, and semiconductors. This milestone comes on the heels of BQP’s pilot agreement with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Aerospace Systems Directorate under a CRADA, aimed at developing quantum-accelerated simulation tools. Founder and CEO Abhishek Chopra emphasized the real-world impact, stating, “The traction we’re experiencing from AFRL/RQ and industry-leading design partners validates the immediate impact and substantial ROI our platform delivers today.” BQPhy is built for hybrid computing systems, leveraging CPUs, GPUs, and quantum machines. The current platform offers a 10x speed boost using quantum-inspired solvers, while the upcoming quantum-native versions aim to scale up to 1000x on future quantum hardware. Roger Krakoff of Monta Vista Capital highlighted the market potential, saying, “BQP directly tackles critical bottlenecks in the rapidly evolving $22 billion simulation industry.” BQP is also working closely with top-tier partners, including India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries, ABB, and a tier-1 aerospace manufacturer. On the quantum front, it’s collaborating with Intel, IBM, Classiq, and Strangeworks. The startup is set to showcase its advancements at AIAA Aviation in Las Vegas and ASME Fluids Engineering this July. Abhishek Chopra | Rut Lineswala | Jash Minocha |Aditya Singh
Congrats Aditya Singh
It is exciting to see BQPhy’s quantum accelerated tools already delivering 10x speedups for aerospace, defense, and semiconductors, especially with that AFRL pilot underway. The potential for 1000x gains on future quantum hardware could reshape the $22B simulation market.
Congratulations! Abhishek Chopra and team. Keep growing
Great to see BQP making strides in such a critical industry! Quantum-powered simulation truly has the potential to revolutionize aerospace, defense, and semiconductors. Wishing them continued success. Cheers, Emailsbit - Email Marketing Solutions
