Mohandas Pai has highlighted Mangaluru as India’s next big hub for innovation, emphasizing its growing tech ecosystem and vibrant quality of life. With around 25,000 tech professionals already in the city, Pai points to the combination of talent, affordable housing, great schools, and a friendly community as key factors driving its rise. He also praised Mangaluru’s lifestyle offerings, from beautiful beaches and resorts to excellent local cuisine, making it an attractive destination for techies and entrepreneurs alike. Pai described the city as a unique blend of work opportunities and leisure, positioning it as a city where professionals can thrive both personally and professionally. For startups and companies looking to establish themselves in India, Mangaluru presents a compelling option with its emerging workspaces, strong human capital, and high quality of life. As Pai put it, the city is ready for those ready to seize its potential and contribute to its growing innovation story.
Lets not spoil Mangaluru...
Say no to religious politics... It ruined Mangalores growth!
Critical parts of our ( Manomaya AI Systems Private Limited) SaaS AI products are designed & developed in #SiliconBeachOfIndia
We seen couple of great acquisitions from this region: R Systems acquired Novigo Solutions in 2025, NTT Data acquired Niveus in 2024 and Technopro acquired Robosoft. Indian version of Florida but better sea food is in Mangalore. A very talented city.
Seems like pai has no knowledge about Mangaluru! He is comparing Bengaluru to MLR! 25,000 techies where? Can he give the proof? Recently Kharge also said Mangaluru has 250 IT/BTindustries? Seems like he counted roadside vendors! In that case, Mangaluru people didn’t have to struggle fr jobs & migrate to other states! Affordable houses? Landlords charge more rent than BLR here for nothing!
As someone who has always believed in Mangalore’s potential, it’s truly inspiring to see this progress. The city’s transformation into a tech hub will bring immense job opportunities, boost real estate, and attract talent from across India and even globally. It’s wonderful to see Mangalore finally getting the attention it deserves — definitely a good sign for the future.
All these people have made huge money And retirement life thinking of mangalore I would ask them what happened 1000 acres allotted to It giants 18 years back what is the progress only talks have been unless the youth doesn’t comes to business potential there is nothing happening
Glad that Mangalore is getting recognized for upcoming IT hub along with other prime cities. Diversified IT hubs always helps in sustainable development.
Thank you sir for being honest and very upfront about the road issues in bengaluru . Much needed
AIM and Mohandas Pai We all want progress and innovation, but it does not always have to come in the form of technology as seen in Bengaluru, Pune, or other parts of India. True innovation should be driven by leadership that creates tangible benefits for local communities and strengthens the overall ecosystem. The facade of “tech innovation” often ends up replicating the same issues, strained infrastructure, chaotic urbanization, and unchecked real estate growth. Mangalore already possesses a rich ecosystem and natural balance that must be preserved. Simply building back offices for tech companies cannot be called innovation. If pursued blindly, it could instead lead to the gradual destruction of our beautiful city.
