Oracle unveils massive AI supercomputer to take on cloud rivals Key Insight: Oracle has launched its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Zettascale10 supercomputer cluster, claiming the title of “largest AI supercomputer in the cloud” with up to 16 zettaFLOPS peak performance—10 times more than its 2024 predecessor. The announcement builds on a deep partnership with OpenAI under the Stargate project, underpinning a $300 billion+ commitment and targeting deployments of up to 800,000 NVIDIA GPUs by the second half of 2026. Background: Oracle’s Zettascale10 is deployed with OpenAI at the Stargate site in Abilene, Texas, but will also power five additional U.S. AI data center sites.
